My Teacher Toolkit Standards I, II, VI
Welcome back!
In this blog, I’m sharing 11 educational technology tools and apps I plan to use to improve learning in my classroom. From fun games and reading programs to coding lessons and tools for classroom management, these resources are all about making learning exciting and effective for students while helping teachers stay on top of things.
1. AbcYa
AbcYa has engaging educational games for younger students. These games cover many subjects such as math, history, reading, and art. It makes learning fun and interactive for students.
2. Raz-Kids
Raz-Kids is an excellent tool for developing reading skills through leveled eBooks and comprehension quizzes. This in an engaging tool, because there is a reward system in place, the more the child reads, the better they can decorate their online room. Teachers are able to track progress and assign personalized reading.
3. Class Dojo
Class Dojo encourages classroom communication and positive behavior management. Teachers can reward students, communicate with families, and share class updates.
4. Starfall
Starfall supports early literacy with interactive phonics-based games and stories. It’s ideal for pre-K to early elementary students building foundational skills.
5. Code.org
Code.org introduces students to programming and computational thinking with beginner-friendly coding lessons and activities. It promotes STEM skills in a fun way.
6. IXL
IXL provides adaptive learning in math, language arts, science, and social studies. It helps teachers identify student strengths and areas for improvement.
7. Kahoot
Kahoot is a quiz-based platform that gamifies learning. Teachers can create interactive quizzes and polls to review content in an engaging way.
8. Brain Pop
Brain Pop offers animated educational videos on diverse topics, paired with activities and quizzes to reinforce learning. It’s a great visual aid for complex concepts.
9. Quizlet
Quizlet helps students master terms and concepts with flashcards, games, and quizzes. It’s particularly effective for vocabulary building and test prep.
10. Reading Eggs
Reading Eggs supports literacy through interactive phonics lessons, stories, and quizzes. It’s especially beneficial for early readers.
11. No Red Ink
No Red Ink helps students improve their writing and grammar skills through personalized practice exercises tailored to their interests.
